Former Public Prosecutor Busisiwe Mkhwebane has joined the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a development she said is motivated to promote community partnership.
This follows her removal from her position as the Public Prosecutor by President Ramaphosa in September this year.
Mkhwebane says she is not seeking a position within the party. Advocate Sibusisiwe said she will continue her work of helping the poor and marginalised communities in the country.
“I think I will be contributing a lot. I’m an expert in good governance, I am an expert as well in service delivery- related issues.
“The EFF has a voice out there, I will be bringing my experience, hence I will say I will be working with the communities,” she said.
South African political analyst, Doctor Levy Ndou said Mkhwebane could head into parliament anytime.
“We might see Advocate Mkwebane heading into Parliament or going into a Provincial legislature but I think we still have to wait and see.
“The biggest possibility is that we might see her being given a position in government by EFF,” he said.
The Economic Freedom Fighters is a South African pan-Africanist and Marxist–Leninist political party founded by politician Julius Malema. It is currently the third largest party in the South African House.
