The deadline for all independent candidates and political parties intending to participate in the National and Provincial elections to submit their nomination requirements is fast approaching.

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is gearing up for the upcoming national and provincial elections, as the deadline for candidate nominations approaches.

As per elections timetable, these nominations are to be submitted by March 8, including the list of candidates, required signatures for independents and unregistered parties, and the prescribed deposits.

Following the submission of nominations, the IEC will diligently verify the documents to ensure compliance.
If any irregularities or non-compliance are found, notices of non-compliance will be issued by the IEC by March 18.

Parties have been granted until March 25 to make any necessary adjustments to their candidate lists.

The Chief Electoral Officer of the IEC, Sy Mamabolo, has also announced that the provisional lists of candidates will be published for public inspection on March 26 and 27, 2024.
