African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has accused the Democratic Alliance (DA), South Africa’s biggest opposition party, of attempting to sell the country to the United States of America.

Ramaphosa’s statement comes in response to DA’s letter to the US government, requesting their presence to oversee the upcoming elections scheduled for May.

Ramaphosa has criticized the DA’s actions, suggesting that the party has other motives in seeking the involvement of global superpowers.

He emphasized that South Africa already has established regional and international organizations, which regularly monitor the country’s elections.

The D.A has however defended its decision, asserting that it is crucial to ensure free and fair elections and maintain public confidence in the democratic process.

The party argued that inviting international observers, including the United States, would contribute to transparency and accountability during the electoral proceedings.
