The president of the African People’s Convention (APC), Themba Godi said his party is determined to secure representation in various provincial legislatures.
Godi made these remarks during a campaign trail in his hometown near Thulamahashe in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, yesterday.
The APC suffered a setback in 2019 when it lost its only seat in the National Assembly. However, Godi remains optimistic about the party’s prospects and outlined their goal of securing at least two seats in the next National Assembly.
“Looking at the amount of work that we are currently doing, we are absolutely confident that the APC is going to make history by being the first party to be taken out of parliament and come back in the next election,” stated Godi.
Godi also criticized the emergence of splinter parties from other organizations, claiming that they are eroding the support base of established political parties.
Godi believes that the APC’s unwavering commitment to serving its constituents will set them apart and secure their return to the National Assembly.
Founded in 2007, the APC party has been a vocal advocate for the rights and interests of marginalized communities in South Africa.
The Party aims to defy the odds and secure a place in the political landscape in the upcoming elections.
